Growth inherently requires us to tolerate discomfort. To see a more conscious choice, we must become aware of the unconsciousness of our previous habit or tendency. This involves at least a moment of unflattering self-awareness which usually feels uncomfortable.
Ken Wilber
Drum the earth with every beat your speeding heart has left to give– let the howl fill the space your rushing breath leaves to live. Hanging vines will slow you, tangle in your hair– but flowers turn to sweet wines that lace the fevered air. How sharp are the teeth that fill your grin, when bared before the gods? Let laughter turn to thunder-crack; let joy itself be clawed.
